Welcome to my website!

I am an acrylic, figurative and portrait painter almost exclusively. I am endlessly fascinated by the human body…it's curves, lines and forms. Beyond that, the idea that we use our bodies to communicate with and relate to each other, while they simultaneously, keep us separate and apart, consistently engages me. This dichotomy is the essence of what it means to be “me” or “you”.

It is through this relationship we all have with our bodies that my work is formed. The specifics of narrative for each painting are initiated by events, relationships, emotions I am experiencing in my life at any given time. I paint from a very personal place in hopes that something in the work will resonate with others and their personal experiences. It is my hope that the personal will become universal. As much as our feelings feel unique unto us, there are many emotions we, as human beings, share. Understanding that concept makes us more empathetic and less judgmental towards those with whom we share our lives.
